Engine Oiler –
Cranking a newly installed Marshall Engine in order to get it oiled will destroy it.
Get your installers on board by using a pressurized pre-lube unit. Fill it with oil and shop air, attach it through the oil-sending-unit hole and turn it loose. The old electric-drill and distributor shaft method worked okay, but since it doesn’t work with distributorless engines your customers need an alternative!
If you don’t sell an oiler to every shop then keep one in your inventory to rent or loan. Add value to your sale and reduce comeback headaches! Ask your Marshall Representative how you can get a Pre-Lube Unit.
Tip –
Something wrecked the last engine – don’t wreck your replacement!
Be SURE you replace the guilty component by replacing as much of the engine support system as you possibly can. Ensure the water pump, cooling system, oil cooler, sending units are working correctly. Verify fuel and electrical systems and anything that bolts on is functioning properly.
You will end up with fewer problems and a happy customer!
